Ciao!

Hey there! I'm Giulia, a computer scientist passionate about algorithms and machine learning. I just finished my PhD at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence at University Hospital Essen and now I'm working at HealthSage AI. I've been working on various machine learning challenges in healthcare - from analyzing whole slide images and full-body CT scans to predicting patient outcomes from images. I've also worked on automating data extraction with FHIR, training systems to recognize medical terms, and building custom language models and RAG pipelines.

I am originally from Italy (that's why my name is spelled with a G), but I currently live in Paris (FR). I have also lived in Dortmund (DE), Brighton (UK), Bolzano (IT) and Barcelona (ES). I speak fluently Italian, English and German and can speak a bit of Spanish and French.
